Bonner Black began her life on stage as a classical ballerina as senior member of the Academy of Classic Arts in Huntsville, Alabama. She won scholarships to dance with the Eglevsky Ballet in New York City along with several prestigious professional companies, but in 2012 she decided to move to Nashville and pursue her dream of being a songwriter. She began writing and performing regularly at songwriter renowned venues like The Bluebird Café and The Listening Room. In 2014 she joined a southern Rock/Americana duo, Little Honey, and toured the southeast region opening for The Band Perry, Big Smo, Shooter Jennings, and Charlie Daniels.
In 2016 Bonner reestablished her solo career and was asked to perform at The Time Center in New York City by the Oxford Center of Entrepreneurs. She was awarded the “2016 Oxford Center Artist Entrepreneur” award. June 21st, 2017 her single, “Someone New” was released to all platforms. She will be releasing multiple singles into 2018. Her writing is mostly solo which a rarity for most Nashville based acts. Her music is laced with classic and authentic southern roots. Her lyrics are poetic, yet conversational. She has a unique and authentic sound and when you hear a Bonner Black song, you know it is a Bonner Black song.
